Art portfolios

Please take a look at your students art portfolio. They worked very hard with our artist in residence from Japan.

Ocean Popsicles

Students enjoyed learning how to make Popsicles from "scratch". We used kool aid, Swedish fish, plastic cups, Popsicle sticks , and tinfoil . They were so excited to learn how to make Popsicles they can do at home ! They want to share all their special recipes with their special people at home .

Today was a hot one !

We didn't get to play much outside since it was nearly 100 degrees today! That didn't stop us from having fun in the gym and cafeteria though! You can really tell how much they all miss each other !

Sugar cookies

Today our cooking adventures included making homemade sugar cookies. There were many interesting cookie shapes !

Rainbow fish

We reviewed important reading skills today. Ask your student what "getting your mouth ready " means. After that we read rainbow fish and made a craft with one shiny scale . I wonder why there was only one ?!

Time

Today we learned about telling time - this was a very new concept ! We learned how to read clocks and also write time on the hour . Ask your student to write some times on the hour !

Gyotaku

Today we had a special guest who taught us about Japan. Students learned about komotos and made patterns on paper komotos. They also learned about a form of painting with ink using actual fish called Gyotaku. They even got to try it out! We will continue the project tomorrow !

Baking bread

Today we made bread. This included adding ingredients, kneading the bread, and putting it in the oven. This was very fun!

Tiger sharks and Remoras

Not sure if we like learning about tiger sharks or remoras OR if we just like writing on the table ! Shhh don't tell anyone !
